The only reason we haven’t been attacked since 9-11 is because we took the fight to jihadists on their own turf, both in Afghanistan and in Iraq. The brutal math is, we killed them before they could kill more of us.
This cartoon would be tasteless any day. But on today of all days, it’s obscene.
The only thing ‘tasteless’ about 9/11 was that we had a president ignore the warnings. 9/11 should have never happened.
I think it’s excellent.
Someone (*cough Cliff Hadley) might say it’s tasteless, but can you deny the glaring similarities?
Cliff Hadley: The brutal math is, we killed them before they could kill more of us.
Cliff… you do realize that more American citizens have died in the Iraq war than during 9/11 right? We have lost over 4,300 men and women with another 31,000 wounded and that doesn’t even factor in the losses in Afghanistan.
I’m guessing math isn’t your strong suit… brutal or otherwise.
Guy Smylie is back? I thought you blocked him

Saddam was doing a pretty good job keeping the terrorists out of Iraq on his own.
Afghanistan is a different matter. The resident thugocracy let Osama hang out on their turf and were rightly ousted. But once our focus shifted to Iraq, the Taliban were able to make a comeback. The Iraq war was an expensive (in lives, money, and lost opportunities) mistake.
You blocked Guy Smiley?
Why?
He’s nuts and I disagree with him nearly all the time, but I thought these blogs were for discussing differences of opinion.
Per the photo-funny; I think it’s excellent and right on the mark.
Costner, by your logic, the U.S. shouldn’t have let 300,000 men die in WWII after the Japanese killed only 2,350 at Pearl Harbor. In all just wars, including this long war on totalitarian jihadists, warriors put their lives on the line for you and me. This cartoon trivializes that commitment with its non sequitur.
Guy is just to dumb to be allowed to express himself.
good one.
Finally you got it right! It is a ‘Real’ lie!
Do I need to say, this is crap!?
