Meet Mayor Huether’s new advisor
This video of ‘Ask the Mayor’ is pretty informative, here is a sampling;
(Paraphrasing) (Ahem) “Excited people across the city want to talk to me about issues, and not just about my awesomeness . . . I can’t go anywhere without people wanting to talk to me as mayor, it is great thing, even greater then my perfect politician haircut . . . It’s hard to cross the street in Sioux Falls, because people are calling out my name to talk to me, some want to share their ideas some just want to tell me to fuckoff. I think it will go on for the next four years, and I am excited about it, especially the fuckers telling me to fuckoff. Because I like that word. Fuck! Especially in radio studios”
He also discusses his transition team;
(Paraphrasing) (Ahem)Â “Many people have been asking about my transition team, well it is me. But I also have other people, for instance my wife, Cindy. Also, my close friend, president of Augustana, Rob Oliver. But I also have others. I bought Wilbur the Coyote from Gigglebees, he is advising me, I also hired a drag queen, Princess Falls to advise me on how to turn Sioux Falls into a gay haven, and of course a place to get a perfect politician haircut, like mine.”
He thinks he may have to move the listening sessions from ‘whisk and choop’ to the Orpheum theatre becuase of all the people coming to them (nevermind there is a building you can use rent free – Carnegie Hall).
(Paraphrasing) (Ahem)Â “The popularity of the listening sessions on Saturday has been very popular. I have never seen so much blue hair in my life! We all drink crappy coffee and eat bland breakfast food and talk about the issues.”

The Argus has run a story each week about his “Whisk & Chop” sessions. I believe they said for each of those sessions “about” twenty people have shown up. With numbers like that we’ll soon need the future growth potential of a brand spanking new “Events” Center to handle Mikes popularity on Saturday morning.
PS If the sessions are held in a DT “Events” Center be sure to come early enough to scrounge around looking for a spot to park. You might be looking for that spot for a long time in any of the scattered spots between 14th street on the South, Falls Park on the North, Minnesota Avenue on the West, and Weber Avenue on the East.
In the video he said ’40’ people were showing up and W & C is looking to make room for ’60’ but that is the capacity . . . of course he also said people are stopping him on the street to . . .
He’s the new dictator mayor who won the unaudited 330 million per year city budget lottery. It’s a 4 year party unrestricted by the council. For most lottery winners, prostitutes are their transition team.
What happened to cutting city positions? Perhaps, he discovered they earn more retired and you have to hire another incompetant someone to replace them.

CITY EMPLOYEE CUTS
Per FOX News, there’s data today that government workers make $12 more per hour. Private makes $27 average and has a problem attracting employees because they can’t compete with government.
How about a city pay cut of 30%. Otherwise, quit then work for a private contractor earning 1/3 less without lucrative benefits. Sounds good but I think a city employee could not keep a real job.
When the assistant public works director makes $160,000 plus benefits, there’s lots of room for a cut.
Cotter makes $148G plus. Smith, his assistant makes $116G plus….including bennies and a very generous golden parachute retirement package.
City pay is out of control for many, especially considering the benefits. You’d think maybe, for all that money, they could get employees to build and maintain a coherent code enforcement regimen.
Better yet hire qualified people who know who their boss is – us, the taxpayer.
I saw (deposition) a months city work schedule for Kevin Smith. It was totally blank. He wasn’t on vacation and took no sick days.
