PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – Vice President Dick Cheney has returned to South Dakota for his annual pheasant hunting trip.

His plane landed at the Pierre airport at 10:58 a.m. Cheney left the plane, did not wave, and got into a black SUV, which was part of a 12-vehicle caravan.

In the past, the vice president has stayed at a private hunting lodge near Gettysburg.
He is expected to be in the state for several days.

This marks the seventh year Cheney has gone pheasant hunting in South Dakota as vice president.
