This is Robbie’s first full-length album. All of his work is great though. Robbie is one of those artists who crosses the bridge between Roots rock/Pop/Swing country/ Roots country / bluegrass and modern country. He sings like Jimmy Dale Gilmore, and probably could have held his own in Bob Wills band. His cynical witty songs are fun. He came to SF a few years back on a weeknight. There was about 4 people there, we had a good talk. He blows away any major country act that exists today. If you like Neko Case, Lucinda Williams or Dave Alvin, you would love Robbie.
