Rapid City Journal on the recent Legislator pay increase:
‘State finances are tight, and this is not the time for a pay increase, argued Rep. Garry Moore, D-Yankton.
“Maybe one of the reasons we have one of the lowest-paid citizen Legislatures in the nation is because maybe those people who pay us are among the lowest paid in the nation,” he told his colleagues.’
Well, well, well. No money for the Hi-Po’s, No money for education, No money for cost of living raises for state employees, but a 33% pay increase seems logical for our lawmakers. I’ll say it again, what a bunch of losers.
