“What’s Going On” from 1971 still resonates today as an anti-war theme. He did some real steamy, Donna Summer-type stuff like “Let’s Get It On” in 1973 and “Sexual Healing.” My favorite Marvin Gaye song is “Got To Give It Up (Part 1)” in 1977. It’s the only song that can make a white norwegian-american, like me, get his groove on.
