John Edwards made it very clear before the Iowa primaries, “Who are the Democrats going to put up against a white, male Republican? I think the choice is clear.” Edwards was of course saying that eventually down the road, the race and gender cards would come out and jepardize a Democratic candidate. Clinton has been lucky lately, but Mr. Obama has not. I have always had an inkling that this may take down his campaign. Prejudice runs deep in America and the media and the right like fueling the fire. Maybe Obama can make a comeback from the Wright controversy, but he better get it in gear, time is running out.

2 Thoughts on “The race card may sink the ship

  1. The press, the media is all in a tizzy and frantic to interview the Rev., etc. — but where are they on, oh, the death count in Iraq? DAILY. Where are they on the whistle blowers — like Sibel Edmonds who is willing to go to jail to get truth out? Silence in American media. You’ve got comedian’s asking the tough questions and one lone journalist (Helen Thomas) who pondered “Where is everyone?” during a press conference where she was the only one pressing on the President actually admitting he knew about the torture.

There are real issues that we should focus on rather than who Obama’s friggin’ pastor was. Where is the heat that should be put on the corrupt govt. that is going on at present???

I think the ship is sunk, but the media is presenting a different picture so we can’t see how deep under water we really are.

They did the same to Dean (who I actually think was one of the best Democratic presidential candidates in years). The media is owned by gigantic companies who give money to the established candidates (mostly Republicans), there is no way they are going to let a liberal punk like Obama take the white house. You think they are rough on him now, just imagine what they will do if he wins the nomination?! McCain gaffes on a daily basis, and they leave the old man alone.
