So… he wants to charge rent to the homeless for city parks and sidewalks?

That’s what was so funny about his comments, even in Sux Falls, homeless people have to pay taxes to. De and Bob made it sound like no one was paying anything to live here, on the contrary, when your tax revenue doubles in 10 years, even if you factor in inflation, it’s obvious we are already being overtaxed and the city is spending too much money, and obviously not on the roads. How do you get 81 million dollars behind in road repairs when the money set aside to make the repairs has doubled in a decade? The CIP black hole is where it is going.

Actually, sprawl is where it’s going. The density in the outer parts of town is so low that there are too few houses to support the roads in front of them.
The CIP has lead to the sprawl because the city has allowed enormous lots to be sectioned off. I can’t wait until they start running out of room because of surrounding towns being in the way. Maybe then we’ll see more investment into areas that are already surrounded by the city.
