Don’t knock til you try it. I went to TAR Camp for the first time in ’88. I thought I’d be bored out of my mind for a week with a bunch of nerds, but I wanted to be a page and thought it look good on a resume.
I ended up having a blast and meeting some lifelong friends. I attended 4 camps in all. Since a majority of offices in SD are held by Republicans, it offers teens the opportunity to have access and insight into state government that you can’t get anywhere else.
So what you are saying is that since a ‘majority’ of SD politicians are Republican the rest of us should be sheep and follow suit? That may be the case now, but I am willing to bet by November Pierre is gonna look a little more 50/50 then you think, and by 2010 the Dems might take back the governor’s office. I think South Dakotans are fed up with the failed policies of Republicans in our state and country, and the November elections will prove it.
Meh. If I were a teenager, this is just the sort of camp I’d attend. Republican chicks are easy, no matter how uptight their parents are.
