My Aunt Bertha (who used to play men’s football for the semi-professional team, the Baltic Bullroars, as pictured below, in team uniform)

Thlinget Woman

told me this morning (as we walked neighborhoods knocking on doors telling people not to listen to the radical few who are trying to impeach our state governor for not giving laptop computers to our children) that this kind, gracious, and belevolent gift of land for a junior football sports complex from Dr. Sanford is absolutely filling a NEED for the citizens of Sioux Falls and the surrounding territory (not to mention is a good use of our hard-earned, taxpayer money) – because we Americans (led by our beloved President) live and breath football, and you know that is true.  Now, as we proud and able-bodied citizens help pay for this (much more needed than paying for higher water and sewer rates), more of these young men (and women) can help the greater society in the future as they can practice, compete, and learn to hurt each other so that they each have the wonderful opportunity to most-likely play for the play-off bound Sioux Falls Storms football team.  And one day, they may even play for the upcoming NFL franchise – the Sanford/Krabbenhoft SD Vikings – another MUCH-NEEDED opportunity that we can continue to display our goal of progress and allegiance to our city leaders, fathers, and mothers.  Hurrah!!!

  1. Egg-

I saw this yesterday, I found it a very interesting story. Who approved of us accepting this donation? And why is Sanford giving us the land if they are going to build facilities on it? Kinda sounds like they are trying to skirt property taxes. As for football, I’m all for youth sports, but with all the public school football fields (the taxpayers already own) why are we building more? This whole deal stinks, and I may just have to show up a Carngie tommorrow night and ask some questions our media is not asking.

  2. I don’t know who you are, but you are waaaay out of line. Are you unpatriotic or something??? What – You DON’T like FOOTBALL??? And you sure ask a lot of questions – are you sure you are an American??? Wh7, if my Aunt Bertha ever gets ahold of you – she will pull you up by the earlobe and make you fill a coffee can with your own filth – – –

  3. And by the way – NOBODY, I mean NOBODY needs to attend a city council meeting at Carnegie Hall – what – don’t you trust our city leaders???? Man, I am so upset, I am going to forget about this and watch the Sunday night movie on TV – aaarghhhhhh!

  4. Does anyone remember the free land at Paisley Park? It only cost the city $2 million to build a tunnel to get to the free land. Mostly because no one at city hall knows how to negotiate with the railroad.

  5. John – what the Heck does the free land at Paisley Park have to do with this whole deal anyway? Don’t your realize Dr. T. Denny Sanford was NOT involved in that park, the tunnel, or any railroad – as he didn’t have enough money at that time to make a difference. NOW he can do so – for the football players of the future. We are now in the 21st Sanford Century – so get real with the times, dude! Sincerely, EggBert
