If we build it, they will come.

I wonder if this has more to do with the tribe not having a lawyer. Judges really look down on that. The last time I had to go before your highness I defended myself (after consulting a lawyer friend) He kept asking me why I did not have a lawyer, even after I agreed to plead guilty. I just told him that I chose not to hire one, he looked annoyed. They truly are a fraternity that like to line each others pockets.

If it is true that the tribe controls or even owns the road that goes to the construction site, I suggest they close the road due to emergency repairs . . . ahem.

  1. He who represents himself has a fool as an attorney. I read that somewhere, Scott.

The case was before Judge Piersol, an excellent and fair jurist. I’m sure he was trying to send them the message that maybe they should get a lawyer and continue the matter.

The attorney representing the hog farm, Dave Nadolski, is an extremely skilled attorney. There is no way a pro se party could match him on the law and advocacy skills.

    I’m just sayin’.

  2. I will agree with you partially, but in America we have the right to defend ourselves, and I don’t agree with judges who will rule against you simply because you won’t play the reindeer games. I still remember the case Mickey D’s filed against this poor married couple in England. Neither one of them had a law degree, but defended themselves against libel in court. McD’s lost and spent 21 million pounds fighting them, the couple spent around 10,000 pounds plus lost employment.
