John is cartooning colleague of mine, so I am kinda on the fence over this one. There was a story in the Gargoyle Leader today about the long lines at the courthouse and in the dead tree version of the AL there was a cartoon about the lines done by John. His cartoon depicts people in a line that goes all the way out to the airport. Mine obviously is to Falls Park (done on 7/9). Not sure if John came up with the idea, or if the brain surgeon jokalists at the AL did, but you tell me – was my idea stolen? I would be curious what you think?

I actually did read the Argus today and did see that today and thought of you and your Falls cartoon right off the bat. Both different in terms of location and I’d give John the benefit of the doubt … not sure if someone from Argus suggested this as an idea after reading your blog … or if great minds think alike. John KNOWS better than to mess with you.
🙂
Personally, I like your little extras, like the tilted ZIP building and the nod to the free pork sandwiches from the mayor’s picnic.
Yeah, it is a stretch, because John has commented I have beat him to the punch a couple of times. We just know the AL’s history with past cartoonists, ya, know. John of course is a 100 times better draftsman then I, so I know he would never trace my work. Ha!
Wondered if anyone would notice the Zip tower.
LOVE the Zip tower — it is things like this that make a ‘toon more than just a ‘toon!
Maybe it could be a series. The line starts at famious places around SD. Like Wall Drug, Mt Rushmore, Lewis & Clark Lake, Terry Redlin Center…
I think the treasure’s office should setup shop in the Governor’s mansion, and have all those people standing in line on his lawn.
