Good (long overdue) News from the Washington Pavilion

I heard a rumor today that the Pavilion’s Visual Arts Center will be implementing a new conflict of interest policy that will exempt board members from exhibits, collections, etc.

I think the timing was good for this change, as they have just become an accredited art museum and want to put their best foot forward, they have a new director (Wood) and a new trustee board chair (Sandra Pay).

Let’s hope it is true.

More spin from SF Mucky-Mucks about the Facade Give-away

Hey Bill, do you think Angry Guy and I can sell the city the rights to our roofs and yards so we can get some free money to fix them up, and increase there value? Of course I won’t be peddling tobacco or liquor out of my house, like the recipient of the easement grant on the northeast corner of 10th and Phillips, so maybe I do not qualify. Don’t get me wrong, I think a historic program like this is a great idea, but it should be offered to ALL Sioux Falls businesses, and it should be low-interest loan, not a giveaway.
