  1. A high school in Tulsa had this happen to them when the university of miami decided their U lloked just like the high school’s.

    Why do they care?

  2. Someone let the cat out of the bag! Got a feeling that bag will have some claw marks on it when all said and done.

And WTF copying friggin’ Mizury? That place is a bung hole except for the hot chicks they have, is that what H-burg is trying to emulate?

  3. Correction: It’s Misery. Get it right.

That school is infringing on my (and my wife’s) employer. I’ll expect a check in the mail by the end of the week to clear this whole thing up.

  4. HA! I forgot you taught there Como. I should have sent you the link. You probably don’t know the history of the Harrisburg School District. Let’s just say they have has lots of ‘troubles. You know the political term, pitchfork and torches revolt, well it actually happened at one of the meetings last year.

As for the check in the mail, don’t count on it, they are little short on money too.

  5. I think the designer was from Daktronics. Cut and paste for scoreboards. It’s an old story the Argus did at least 3 months ago.

“Correction: It’s Misery. Get it right.”

My bad, at least you guys love company, right?

My ‘skers are gonna pound on y’all this fall.

  7. The Huskers haven’t been worth a shit since Tommie Frazier was QB.
It would appear that you and I might have something in common after all, Sy.
Funny, I still wish you’d STFU.

  8. AG, we probably have more in common than you think, assuming you do that from time to time.

Did you miss that ’97 season? Or the Crouch years? I wouldn’t call 10-2, or 12-1 seasons “not worth a shit”, or are you one of those classic fuckwads who only roots for a team when they win it all?

Makes sense you like Tommie though, as much as I loved watching him make fools of future NFL draft picks & take us to the promised land (took in the ’95 Fiesta Bowl) he too turned into a bit of a beligerant, angry, dick head after college. At Doane they wanted to run his ass out of town on a rail. At least he had the excuse of being sick of every single Nebraskan wanting an autograph/picture 24-7, what’s yours?

  9. como:

“Screw Miz-who and the ‘skers for that fact. I’m a Buckeye for life. I just work for UM.”

OSU is an excellent program, much respect. Although will you ask Eddie George to Fed Ex that Heisman to it’s rightful owner, the aformentioned Tommie Frazier?

  10. I agree that Frazier was a cock after the glory years for the most part.. just give him the ball… and he shall be REDEEMED!
    I don’t have an excuse. What’s yours?

  11. Mizzou is retooling this year but will prolly still lay a ass whooping on the ‘skers. You wanna keep replaying the 95 season, by all means, be my guest. But in the NOW, the ‘skers play in a conference where the ONLY power resides in the south, (Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma State). The North is a joke when you consider a team like the ‘skers have a shot at winning it. Oklahoma, from the south, will whoop them again this year as they do every year. Question is by how much. 30 to 40 would be my guess. Sure, your ‘skers will make some bowl appearence, toilet bowl most likely, half of all the division 1 teams do.

This years husker schedule looks to be about as cream puff a schedule as they had last year. Did you know that last year they played 11 of 13 games against teams that DID NOT make a bowl appearance Sy? Read that somewhere. Might be wrong tho. Pretty sad when half of all division 1 teams do make it to a bowl game.

Frazier? No NFL. Went on to coach a college team the likes of Dakota State U. 3 wins. 17 losses in two years before Doane tarred and feathered his ass. End of Frazier story.

    Go Trojans.

  12. WP, Don’t matter what you do in the NFL, the Heisman goes to the top collegiate player, not the #1 draft pick. Same deal with Crouch, who took the ‘skers to the title game with considerably less talent on both the field and sidelines.

And you need to get some new bifocals, as Western Mich, MU, VA Tech, KU, TT, OU & Clemson all were bowling last year. 3 of which were in the BCS series bowl games.

You taken a glance at the ESPN pre-season Top 25? The ‘skers play 5 of those teams, U$C plays 3. Most of the PAC 10 is freakin’ pathetic, yet somehow those pesky OSU Beavers always seem to knaw their way to victory over the fighting rubbers.

Interesting why you would be a U$C fan, since you don’t support pay for play in any other practical application.

  13. I like the NFL and the STEELERS in particular. I’m not that crazy about college ball, particularly the big 12 brand of no defense. I will watch USC play because I know every senior or player who goes draft eligible will probably play in the NFL some day. Numbers and players, REAL PLAYERS, like these.

    2009 draft

    Mark Sanchez
    Brian Cushing
    Clay Matthews
    Rey Maualuga
    Fili Moala
    Patrick Turner
    Kaluka Maiava
    Kyle Moore
    David Buehler
    Cary Harris
    Kevin Ellison

    2008 draft

    Sedrick Ellis
    Keith Rivers
    Sam Baker
    Lawrence Jackson
    Fred Davis
    Terrell Thomas
    Chilo Rachel
    JD Booty
    Thomas Williams
    Chauncy Washington
    Drew Radovich

21 players in two years Sy. What has Nebraska had the last two years make it to the bigs. Two? Maybe three?

And the Trojans are reloading for the 2010 draft.
    – Taylor Mays
    – Will Harris
    – Kevin Thomas
    – Josh Pinkard
    – Averell Spicer
    – Luther Brown
    – Jeff Byers
    – Charles Brown
    – Nick Howell
    – Alex Parsons
    – Anthony McCoy

  14. Tha’s great, Warren, but it’s also the sports equivalent of a straw man argument. You cannot compare the NFL to the college game. What it takes to put together a really good college team is almost copmletely different than for the pros. The time frome for player development is shorter, the physical abilities of the players coming in need to be improved, the coaching staff is always focused on recruiting the next star, and players moving between different teams is the exception rather than the rule.
So if you’re more interested in the NFL and players headed there, that’s cool. Just don’t claim to be a college football fan.

  15. I may not be a fan in the truest sense of the word, but I do know enough about it to have conned you and Sy out of a couple beers. 😉

  16. Sorry, l2wis.

Sy, are you kidding me? 1900+ yards, 24 TDs, 200+ vs. Notre Dame, and 300+ vs. a solid defense at Illinois. That year’s Heisman was a no-brainer.

Come talk to me when Nebraska’s relevant again.

  17. I may not be a fan in the truest sense of the word, but I do know enough about it to have conned you and Sy out of a couple beers.

I believe you owe me at least one out of those bets we made. Another field goal against Texa$ and you’d owe me another.

  18. I believe you owe me at least one out of those bets we made.
    GoD

That thread is still there…assuming the thought police have not gotten to it yet. Better go re-read the terms of that bet. You lose. Twice.

  19. como:

“1900+ yards, 24 TDs, 200+ vs. Notre Dame, and 300+ vs. a solid defense at Illinois. That year’s Heisman was a no-brainer.”

ROFL, that Ilini team went 5-5-1, yeah real solid.

George had a big year, sure. But to compare what he did for his team vs. what Frazier did is laughable, take a look at these career stats via Wiki:

    Record as starter: 33-3 (91.7%)
    Passing: 250-509 (49.1%), 4,003 yards, 47 TD, 18 INT
    Rushing: 386 carries, 2,263 yards (5.9 ypc), 36 TD
    Senior stats (Heisman Trophy runner-up): 98-177 (55.4%), 1,467 yards, 18 TD, 6 INT
    113 carries, 803 yards (7.1 ypc), 16 TD

The man was MVP of the National title game 3 times, no one else has ever done that.

He got robbed and turned into a dick because of it. (okay, I made that last part up)

and L3wis, whattup? Those big meanie FB players pick on you in High School? Steal your girl? Make fun of your Chuck Taylors? Let it go buddy. You may as well embrace Sports as an integral part of Americana, especially since many of our current legislators in DC are currently trying to unfuck-up the BCS. They must have all the other problems figured out, eh?

Tell you what, how about this Fall we grab the Dude, Angry Guy and road trip down to Lincoln for a Husker Football game. That would mean a full 7 hours in the car to discuss art & politics face to face to back of head to back of head. You could live blog from the car, rest-stops, stadium, restrooms, bars, drive thrus, maybe jail.

Plus, we could get all fucked up and see if any of us make any more or less sense at 2am at Amigos eating shitty Mexican food. Dude could bring along some home brew so we can keep rollin after 1am. We could stop off on the Omaha hood and score some crack. I could take AG out for a snipe hunt and we’ll see which one of us comes back. It be a fuckin’ hoot and by the time were done you’ll be wearing a big Red foam finger and singing the Fight Song out of the sunroof like you were trying out for American Fucking Idol.

    or maybe not.

  20. Let’s wait a two years and go to the game when my Cowboys come to town. At least then I won’t have to wear red.

  21. I played HS football, I loved ‘playing’ the game, just kind of boring to watch. And I was gonna say, you must be hard up for friends if you want to take AG on a road trip. But if you do, I advise you take his van, it’s cool.

  22. Dude:

“His van is on google street view. It’s THAT cool.”

Ahh yes, I see it’s parked out in front of an elementary school as usual, thank God school’s out.
