The Drake Springs pool is a huge success while saving the city millions in building and subsidy costs;
Since the facility opened May 29, more than 23,000 people have visited. That’s despite it being closed six full days and one half-day because of inclement weather.
You mean the kids showed up? You are kidding me. I thought they would be upset about not having an indoor pool, according to our very insightful city leaders.
But it doesn’t stop Vernon Brown from eating sour grapes;
“With an indoor pool, there would have been opportunities for children to be swimming on those cold, rainy days,” said Vernon Brown, a City Council member who supported an indoor pool.
You are right Vernon. And kids have over 8 indoor private pools to pick from at various fitness centers. Get over it already.
I think I can speak for most if not all children when I say swimming isn’t nearly as fun when it is in an enclosed space that traps the chlorine smell, and it isn’t all that popular to do on cold, rainy days.
Was Vernon ever a kid, or did he come straight out of his mother’s womb with a bald head, brown nose, and lack of common sense?
That’s not my issue. The fact is the city should not be competing with private industry. That’s why the city builds outdoor pools, not indoor ones. If you want to swim indoors get a membership to a fitness center.

Yeah. This is what Drake Springs would look like if Vernon and Munson supported the outdoor pool.
Im assuming Vernon Brown talked to thousands of young kids across the city and that all those kids told him they wanted an indoor pool. What B.S.
