Attached are two photos I took of my neighbor’s back yard.  You’ll notice that this man is an inventor.  Trimming hedges are a pain, right?  So what if you could have nice bushes, without all the work?

He took a lawnmower deck, some pipe, chains and welding supplies to make a hedge trimmer he can pull behind his riding lawn mower. Yes, that’s right – he has made a trailer with a real gas lawn mower deck attached on the side so that he can trim his bushes in the most lazy way possible.  You’ll notice that there is no cage to protect his head.  Also, I’m pretty sure that hedges will only be as even as the ground he drives over.  Does it look top-heavy to you?  This might be a candidate for the Darwin Awards.

Hopefully I can get some photos of this in action.  Filling it up with gas, starting it, using it — all seem like good opportunities for entertainment.

  1. What’s up with the plastic bag around the motor?

You really need to sell the bar and leave Crankton.

  2. Or at least hook me up with that chick that owns the ‘art’ gallery.

  3. While I admire his ingenuity and laziness, this thing has danger written all over it. Looks like something I would build.

    ” and leave Crankton.”

    You nailed it.

I once heard a story (which I’m 99.9% sure is an urban legend) where two guys were going to use a lawn mower to trim hedges, but their plan all went wrong when they started the mower and then proceeded to reach under it to grab a hold of it…and proceeded to chop the majority of their fingers off.

Who would have thought stupidity such as this is actually legitimate.
