I still don’t believe he would sell this for best offer. Heck, I could tell him I’d buy it for $27.50 and if nobody else came along do you think he would sell it?
So what I’m saying here is l3wis – either you aren’t being exactly honest about the “best offer” concept, or you are being silly in allowing someone to steal this for far, far less than it is worth.
I think you should put a disclaimer on this than you won’t allow it to go for less than X (call it a hidden reserve if you don’t wish to disclose the minimum).
