Get ready to lose again.
Yes, Bob, you would know a lot about being a ‘loser.’
This would have a better chance of passing if they piggy backed it onto a resolution to make NASCAR the official state sport.
I hate to say it, but fuckface Bob is right.
There is NO WAY this is going to pass… if it does I’ll eat my hat… that being said, I’ll need a medicated brownie before attempting that feat.
I agree with Angry Guy. In fact, if this bill passes, I will wear a Packers hat and Vikings jersey and sing the Oklahoma State and Nebraska fight song.
After all, this is the same state that brings us astrological and thermological reasons for climate change. And they want to teach it to our kids.
LMFAO

You have to realize it only failed by 3% in 2006. Enjoy your hat lunch.
I changed my mind after I see monoPoly wants to agree with me.
Eff that.
Ah… what’s the matter AG? Aside from anger management issues, you’re also fickle as a middle schooler.
BTW…STFU
The South Dakota voters are fickle group, but unless you proposed taxing the heck out of it (which would convince some on the fence since they could see revenue benefits) I still don’t think it will pass.
While true the younger voters will support this, the older generation are still the ones headed to the booth. I’m not making any Rush Limbaugh promises to move out of the state if it doesn’t pass by any means, but I’d be willing to wager a few bucks that it fails.
Well, supporters will be able to point to a series of studies by the University of California San Diego. They were just published (in a number of peer reviewed journals).
One of the complaints I’ve heard is that there is no scientific evidence that Medical Marijuana works…now they have a collection of 10 year studies that says that it does.

I still wish they would merge with the Industrial Hemp movement and make their cases side by side. Sure there’s tax revenue to be had by medical MJ, but that’s miniscule compared to what we could reap with a full blown commitment to a new cash crop, especially if we were to go after some value added processing with it.
We could go from needing Federal money to balance our state Budget to massive surpluses in pretty short order, as long as we don’t face a Federal challenge. That would bring along the pragmatic fiscal conservatives, which I think there’s more of than the more vocal Social conservatives.

Our state has recently made the news for pushing astrology over sound science, so what makes you think real peer reviewed science will have any bearing on it?
I understand what you are saying, but I think the “sound science” argument is merely an excuse used by those who don’t think the benefits are worthwhile.
I agree with Sy… push for the industrial hemp along with the medical mj and then you have something. Hemp has almost as much potential as the soybean and it has been ignored for far too long.

Well – it doesn’t have to change everybodies opinion – it just has to change the opinion of 3% or so…
But sadly, I agree that it is unlikely to sway a large number of voters.
it was fun to see the stoners at the fair last year trying to get signatures for this.
Like the tea party or coffee party, how about the ‘stoner party’ without fossil republicans? Sell it to the blue hairs as a heated stones medical treatment that gets your rocks off with deep bong breaths. Otherwise sneak in ‘the stoner bill’, vote yes to make Moncola the state board game.
It would make a good cash crop to help pay for the governor’s planes.
Ballot Pedia has a great story about it

Rush never said that, stop being part of the drive-by-media.
He said he would “go to Costa Rica” if the healthcare bill passed. Actually his exact quote is “If this passes, and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.”
The next day he decided to clarify his statement by saying he meant he would go there for healthcare treatment and not that he would move there.
However even that little backpeddle doesn’t really work since Costa Rica has (you guessed it) socialized government-run healthcare.
I heard it from his own lips, thus the “drive-by media” argument (which is a staple phrase required to be considered a dittohead apparently) falls rather flat.
Care to try again?
Bob, if you’re still reading this thread, why are you against the medical use of MJ?
Dear Medical MJ Anti-Americans:
MJ AND Medical MJ are both illegal, if you don’t already know it…and as long as our beloved 2 local SD hospitals, P. Penny Stanfords & Alvira McMinervas continue to serve such healthy foods as fried, boiled & grilled Senior Weeners and Borrowed BuckRucker Sales Tax Burgers to their well-insured & well-taken care of dying patients, who the Heck cares? If you get caught Doin’ The Doobudge, you do the prison time – Got It, you whiney-loser, dying, medically retarded non-FOX NEWS watchin’ hipsters!
Sincerely,
St. EggBert % Family of Green Drunks…
Actually Costner, Yes, I do.
Nice try, But no, you weren’t listening to Rush.
I on the other hand was…and do everyday.
The context in which he was speaking was clear to know what he was referring to…but people like you ignore the context and get a snippet of the transcript and think “ah-ha, we’ve got him now”, and then do your little dog and pony show about how you got Limbaugh.
Heres a link, of Rush being very clear, for all the people in Rio Linda.

(I couldn’t get the exact transcript word for word as I am not a member of Rush 24/7)
SuFallian: Nice try, But no, you weren’t listening to Rush.
Ah…yes I was – as I do from time to time during the noon hour. So yea… I heard him say it (although I do admit I didn’t hear his little backpeddle the next day… had to get that one from a transcript).
So don’t tell me what I was listening too, because you have no idea.
SuFallian: I on the other hand was…and do everyday.
This does not surprise me in the slightest.
SuFallian: The context in which he was speaking was clear
You are free to debate context all you wish – but Rush has a habit of later saying he was being sarcastic after he is busted saying something which we know to be untrue. He also has a habit of lying, doctor shopping, drug abuse, and hypocrisy… not that it really matters.
However, much like the good little foot soldier you are – you posted his statement from the next day where he backpeddled whereas I posted his exact quote from the day prior before he decided to flip-flop.
So you want context – why don’t you listen to the exact friggin’ audio clip again if you want context. The man says he will go to Costa Rica… the words come from his own lips no matter which way you dance around it.

You are free to excuse Rush all you want, but I’m not giving him any more room than he gave to Alec Baldwin when he claimed he would move to Canada.
Costner, you’ve been had.
Even the most loyal rushbot does not use words like “drive-by media” and “Rio Linda” in normal conversations.
