The Rapid City Journal has had the same format for over a year, or more. Personally I like the new format at the AL, it is easier to read, but hardly an original idea.

There’s no connection – the RCJ is owned by Lee Enterprises and the Argus is owned by Gannett.
I know that, that is not my point. My point is that they lifted the format. Which is fine, that’s how the internets work. I lifted my site design.
Unless Gannett Corporation is now cribbing from Lee, you are off the mark.
The Tennessean – Gannett’s flagship – adopted the exact look a week ago and other Gannett papers are following suit. Including the Argus. the only thing the Argus might want to crib from RCJ is David Montgomery and Kevin Woster.
Um, like I mentioned above, the RCJ has had this format for a very long time. But let’s not talk about formats, let’s talk about content. The RCJ is a far superior newspaper. I’m jealous that West River people don’t appreciate their libertarian views.
