Another fun fact: Judd Nelson (who created Raven) is a cast member of the television show “Hometime” with Dean Johnson. They even devoted a couple of episodes of the show on rebuilding and expanding his workshop where he makes his art.
Also, that “One With” piece by Martin Eichinger is pretty damn impressive.
That’s a honorable thing to do for Dave Dedrick… Long Live Captain 11!
Pretty cool.
Ha, this reminds me of a peculiar story. I was in a coffee shop in Berlin, Germany about two years ago. There was an indie band playing in English called “The Hidden People” some experimental indie artsy-fartsy band. I don’t think they have an album or anything (yet) just a group of students playing that night. All of a sudden the band started playing a song with a chorus of “whatever happened to Captain 11?” With lyrics about a spaceship in dakota or something like that. After the set I went up to the singer and asked him where he was from and he said “Amsterdam” but I grew up in the states. South Dakota he said with a sly smile. Ha ha, small world. Nothing to do with the story but it seemed amusing at the time that there was a “Captain 11 song” in Berlin.
Brom – You should see if you can find audio or video of it online.
I see Jim Clark couldn’t resist the opportunity to get praise and cry about people who may be critical of SW (that receives public money) starts at 45:00 –
SWEET!
Beautiful work by Porter Williams.
Fun Fact: First white guy he’s ever sculpted.
Really? I thought Dave was blue.
His nose was always red.

Here’s the deal, I will say it one more fucking time for those who are hard of hearing.
– SW is good for our community
– SW should receive public funds BUT the public should have a say in the process
– Clark needs to learn how to take criticism in his volunteer role.
