Applications are now being taken for an open position on the Sioux Falls City Council in the Northwest District.

Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter stating why they would like to serve as a council member, and also will need to complete a Notice of Interest and Statement of Financial Interest form at www.siouxfalls.org.

The deadline for applications is noon March 16.

The City Council will review applications, and the finalists will participate in a public forum hosted by the City Council and moderated by the League of Women Voters at 6:30 p.m. March 29.

The remaining seven City Council members will vote to fill the vacancy at their April 4 meeting.

The successful applicant will serve until the April 2012 election.

I hope we get at least 4-6 applicants.

    Again I’ll say it, Millage would be a good fit. He listens, he’s got some Media skills, he’s got vision and he’s run some organizations where you don’t spend more than you take in. He’s independant minded as well & honest.

    Probably vastly overqualified, but he should run anyway.

    Well, if it is between Mark and Dean, Mark is the obvious choice. But I hope the two at least get a little competition.
