I thought for a long time that Millage was a shoe in, but the more I think about it, I think Karsky may pull this off by the skin of his teeth. He has ran for this position several times before and has the knowledge. I’m not saying he will get all the votes, but don’t be surprised if he gets the 4 votes he needs to win in the first round.

I watched the forum the other night, and wasn’t to impressed by the 3 candidates that spoke, mostly canned answers. And while I lean towards Mark Millage I won’t be to hurt if Karsky gets it. This is only a 12 month appointment, and if whoever is chosen doesn’t do well over that 12 months, they can be booted in the next election.

The city council votes on this tomorrow night (item 39).

4 Thoughts on “New SF councilor prediction: Dean Karsky gets the nod.

  1. Ironically, it is a campaign photo with Huether & Millage arm in arm that raised a red flag for some councilors. How’s that for long coattails?

It’s too bad, because like you I think Millage is the best choice. He’s getting mislabeled as a MyMan yes man and apparently the council is saying “no, thanks”.

My thots to. I agree, I think Mark has more experience and understands government better. But it won’t break my heart if Mark loses.

I don’t know. Mark and Dean are both Republicans, so it is kinda weird.
