Just kidding. Kermit finally got a half-ass letter from the city that he was not unethical.

Former Sioux Falls city council member Kermit Staggers says he’s won a year-long battle with the city’s Board of Ethics.

Staggers says the board sent him a letter retracting their reprimand from last May. The board had reprimanded him on charges of holding another office while on the city council.

You can read the PRESS CONFERENCE and the documents here: kermit-ethics

That letter was shorter then the one I got about my library card being cancelled.

9 Thoughts on “Kermit has been freed!

  1. I went door 2 door for Kermit when he ran for Mayor. I like the guy. I know I don’t agree with him on everything but Kermit has always been more than interested in discussing different positions.

    I’ve never met Mike Huether.

Oh, you gotta meet Mike. It took me about 30 seconds of talking to him in person and my bullshit detector went thru the roof. I’m a cynic of course, so these kind of ‘go get em’ business elites have always made my stomach churn.

My wife met Kermit during his campaign and informed him, “That tan suit you wear makes you look washed out – you should try Navy blue.” I hope that pic is current – she’ll feel good about having been heard!

Your man Mike is no man. The short shit lied when he took the oath of office (protect and defend the constitution) and thereafter proved himself a pathological lier. He’s oriented on building an events center while infrastructure collapses. He’s a credit crook who will bankrupt the city. I’ve spoken to Kermit. Were he elected mayor; he’d restore integrity, honesty, and democracy. I differ from his political philosophy. Home Rule can’t be amended and must be repealed. However, he could be the one to restore government of, by, and for the people. Kermit in 2014.

Tim – He changed his suit to blue after your wife told him that, he changed it on his website to. Funny. I don’t think you are the only one that told him that. I liked the tan though, earth tones are a good thing.

Pathloss – Kermit has no chance in 2014. None.

Why? Well, when he agreed to be Gordon Howie’s running mate for the Republican Primary for Governor, he pretty much screwed any chance that he would ever get a vote from a politically active Democrat in this state ever again. He knew this when he publicly agreed to tie himself to this culture warrior. Because Kermit does tend to annoy certain portions of his own party, he needs fiscally conservative, socially liberal Democrats to vote for him to have a chance. He pissed in their Cheerios.

If he runs again, which is HIGHLY doubtful, any Democrat or Moderate Republican just has to tie him to Howie(who, let’s be honest, was so far right wing that he only got 5% of the Republicans to vote for him in the primary with Kermit’s help).

The Howie move was very unwise.

It is so sad that they would go after Kermit like this. He is such a good and honest man. Even if people disagree with him.

I’ll try and find a chance to meet Huether. I’m already not a fan so I’ve never taken the time.

I’m already looking ahead to 2014 so we can vote him out…

Why is he so determined to have the EC at the Arena site.

Obviously the pro-arena people are not as worked up as the DT folks. I don’t understand his desire to headbutt the community that has such a strong opinion. Especially if he wants to rise in politics beyond SF.
