Huether will push this through. The vote will happen over and over or will be rigged. Otherwise, he’ll proceed without the vote via bribed councillors. Time to consider an exit strategy to escape high taxes.
I agree, if it fails in November, this will be a re-occuring event.

Anybody attend the Rotary meeting and help pick out seats and curtains for the events center?
It really sickens me that this thing is gonna to happen by hook or by crook.
But Huether is a man that’s used to getting what he wants no matter how much pouting, fit-throwing, byullying or nights sleeping on his couch he must go through. He wants this thing, and dammmit, he’s gonna get it.
I’d happily support t5his gentleman in his opposition campaign, but just watching his announcement about put me to sleep… not the most inspirational leader. I wish a solid opposition force would step up… someone with leadership, organizational, and fund-raising skills to really compete with the shit that already flowing downhill. This guy said he “never really thought about raising money”. WTF??
Oh well. I guess we gettin an events center Sioux Falls.
SS – Oh, don’t under estimate the power of politeness. I know Bob may not be your version of a hard hitter, but he chooses his words wisely, I think he makes a perfect person to be the opposition to this. But will Huether debate him?
There is also something to say about prudence. Remember the Rec center and indoor pool opposition raised very little money. People respect that. Let Mike go do PPT presentations and marketing campaigns, all it says is, “What is he trying to sell us?”
Had to laugh, Huether uses the rededication of a tomb to blab about the EC;
“Building an event center for the city of Sioux Falls is easy compared to this,” Huether said of his own challenge as mayor.
