“There’s a lot of chickens in this town – a lot of them,” Char Wollan said.
I would have to agree Char. And most of them occupy Carnegie Hall, not your neighbor’s backyard. Gotta hand it to Ellis and the editors at the Argue Endorser for one of the best quotes of all time in this story about urban farming.
I thought it was interesting that there were two Argus articles – this one, about urban farming, and another about transit funding – that I think hit at the core of what we want the identity of this city to be. Seems like people like Char Wollan would like Sioux Falls to stay just like it has been for the past 50 years – one big, giant suburb.
Char Wollan has to be an idiot. I’m curious as to where she lives that there are “chickens everywhere” because I would really like to link up with these other chicken people! She’s been lobbying against chickens? I’ve been trying to form a coalition of people who raise chickens within city limits! Sounds like my hens and I have found an arch-nemesis!
I know where Char lives, and there is ZERO chickens in her neighborhood. As for cuckoo birds, that is another story.
