Super Mike is going fly outta town

Wanna good laugh? Listen to the latest listening an learning session. But let me help you out with the fun moments. (this was sent to me by a South DaCola foot soldier)

If you want a hearty laugh, slide the bar to 4:15.  Mayor tells audience that he’s going on vacation on November 9 … complete with the most hilarious hand gesture he’s ever made!  All he needs is a cape with a giant “M” on his chest and he’ll save the cost of airfare!

If you have some extra time, take the bar to 11:00 for a question why streets haven’t been swept since last spring.  After the mayor gives his answer that crews have been filling potholes and the streets will be swept over the next 6 weeks, the guy must have muttered something under his breath about 6 feet of snow by then (good point) … because Huether stops, goes back, and gives the guy an earful.

Slide the bar to 20:15 for the audience question on the true cost of the event center.  Man tried to point out that with interest this will cost us closer to $200m.  Huether argues that people understand you can’t borrow money for free.  He tries to shut the guy down, but the man is persistent.  Watch the full exchange.  Runs about four minutes.

At 46:00 he gets a little torqued at a guy for laughing at him regarding a pot hole. I have to side with Mike here as he can’t follow up on everything and he does defend his actions here.

MMM’s name is misspelled “h-E-U-t-h-e-r” throughout the show. LMAO! Think someone will get a reprimand???

Can you just imagine the frustration he must feel after he’s done with these “meaningful” sessions? I bet he gets in his car and lets loose with his behind closed door language. What a crowd he draws. Funny!!

  4. I was thinking the same thing. He is pretty patient. I remember one day I had an ignorant table asking me stupid questions about where fresh veggies come from. They were accusing us of using canned or frozen veggies. And I explained to them that we get fresh vegetable deliveries 3 times a week and refrigerate them. They couldn’t grasp the concept. These were adults in their 40’s and 50’s. They were dumber then mud. I walked away from the table and went to the BOH and cussed more then I ever have in my life.

  5. L3wis, I was thinking exactly what you were thinking. How frustrated he must be after some of these. I’m always entertained by these. There’s usually one or two cranky old guys who go off on something. Mayor Huether has always been a hand/arm gesture kind of guy, but he’s really in rare form in this one, almost waving a plane in for a landing. 🙂 I was at the EC presentation at Caille tonight. One old guy went off at length and was clearly clueless, confusing facts and issues, and throwing out some silly assertions. There’s always one or two at these things. I love challenging questions and involvement, but have a clue before you speak if possible. And I think the Mayor must have really taken exception to that one guys offhand comment about the street sweeping and ‘6 feet of snow’ to have stopped and gone back. Pretty fun video.

  6. I almost emailed him and commended him for keeping his cool. Of course he will read this, so it is kinda like I commended him.

  7. Personally, I would find it fortunate/relieving to only have to deal with that level of confused ignorance from among the general populace rather than as a part of the “personalities” within my own commission/council.

  8. Kind of looks like a pastor giving the benediction at the end of church service.

Ruf – No kidding? Huh? It still baffles me though that some people still don’t know where it is being built. I guess if you are against it all together, it doesn’t really matter. But, C’mon!
