Out with the new in with the old?
Jeff and Mutt over at the Argue Endorser’s 100 Eyes show do a segment called ‘wild speculation’ that I always enjoy. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are completely wrong. Well I have some of my own today. I had a long convo with one of my chief South DaCola foot soldiers this afternoon, and they are a long time watcher of KSFY and a fan of former anchor Katie Taube (who just recently left the station).
The speculation? Who is replacing Taube? They think it will be none other then Munson’s chief lapdog Jodi Schwan.

Slow down cowboy, not sure if this is true. In fact I have ZERO info to back this up. But I do find it a little weird that Katie was outed so suddenly. And with cutbacks at the AL, it wouldn’t be to hard to understand Jodi looking to get back into TV.
After looking at her FB page, one wonders why she stays here?! Does this girl have a life? Seriously?

It’s kind of telling that the best job she could get, after being a “chief of staff” is writing fluff pieces for the argus business section.
KSFY has a group of in-house candidates that should get first consideration. If Jodi is the choice, I got no problem with it. She was judged all too often in the past in a wrong light just because she was a woman. Lot of things said about her were just flat out of line.
This is my opinion of Jodi without being snarky, she certainly has the credentials (education) to go anywhere and do anything, she definately must like SF because personally I would have flew the coop after working the COS position. Emmett, who headed up the Measure 13 initiative last year has worked for political campaigns and politicians all over the country. I guess I find it a bit odd that she hasn’t gotten a better job offering then working for the AL doing an occasional video about restaurants.
I somewhat agree with Poly. She took the city slot and endured lots of flak. Then she was meek and soft but she may have come around and learned to recognize flawed city government. I watch KSFY exclusively because I’m reasonably assured they’re not edited by city nobility like KELO. If she can prove she’ll report honestly, give her the job. She could prove to be the assist to help return city government to democracy.
Sure, but wouldn’t it be kind of a step backwards? I would think being Munson’t COS would have opened the door to all kinds of opportunities. Like I said, wild speculation.
politics aside, she may be a decent reporter, but would make a very dull anchor. i would pick courtney zoeller over her any day.

I never liked Jodi, she doesn’t seem to have any personality. I think Katie leaving was kind of strange, just because of the way she worded her farewell speech. She doesn’t have another job lined up. If Jodi is her replacement, I will skip the newscasts that she does. In fact when she has been on early in the morning for an occasional brief segment I find something else to do while she is on. I don’t like KELO at all. I like Shawn, Cory, and Phil. I also like Rachel and Nancy. Any of them are better than Jodi.

How did she word it? I was wonderin a few months ago why she was still here. She said about six months ago she was leaving after getting married.
I think she was too indoctrinated by KELO to ever be a good reporter or anchor.

My bet is former KELO anchor and current KSFY weekend anchor Cortney Zieller.
I think Taube left because she got sick of driving to Iowa to see her husband every weekend. Doesn’t sound like she had any future job prospects.
I didn’t care for her on KELO. I emailed her once about getting some facts mixed up in a story and she never responded, mind you, I can be a real peckerhead, but you would think she would check into it and at least correct it or get back to me? Stormy Bartnik is the same way, too busy I guess. Like being a local TV beat reporter is that hard and demanding! A close friend of mine was a producer at Stormland TV for awhile, he loathed the reporters and on air personalities because they were so dumb.
