  1. You mean you did not see the hidden KKK symbols and homosexual tendencies? I kinda thought it looks like a Pepsi logo.

  2. I like it. Light, airy, flowing. It moves and it’s simple. I’ve not seen anything like it on other flags. Very unique. SD needs to have a flag design contest.

  3. I like it except it should say in words around the orange in the middle “SOUTH DAKOTA THE MOUNT RUSHMORE STATE” and then have the seal on the other side.

  4. Bishop, I agree, that was kinda why I did it. I did several quick sketches, but it only took me about 15 minutes to create this design on the computer. I would love to see other artists and designer submit ideas.

  5. My mother told me this morning that the new design is supposedly similar to a logo used by a Native American gang located in Minnesota.

  6. Scott E, your flag looks like the logo for a Hawaiian airline. Yet it is still a lot better than the lame flag they were proposing.

That being said, I’m still firmly entrenched in the “it isn’t broke so leave it alone” camp.

  7. That Nat Am gang in MN got busted up big time just a couple of days ago. I can’t remember the gang’s name, but it terrorized the people in the Nat Am neighborhood of Minneapolis.

  8. I like that design. It is simple, yet with strong and deep symbolism. Earth, Sun, Wind or Sky. Similar colors to current flag. Only suggestion would be to swath a little streak of blue through the green and then you have the river, making it even more true to current flag and adding water to earth sun and sky. The natives would like it and the old flag lovers couldn’t bitch too much. I’d take that flag over the other proposed one.

  9. Yeah, you definitely can’t leave out the great divider – the muddy water gateway, with a subtle slope from NW to SE.

  10. yes, yes and then can you pick out a nice font and write “Mississippi of the North,” on it?

  11. Trust me, I have more design ideas then you can possibly imagine (most of them cynical and sarcastic).
