Once again an ineffective state legislature leads us to these measures;
Type | Title | Subject | Description |
---|---|---|---|
LRCA | Corporate Language Amendment | Language | Deals with modernizing language dealing with corporations in the state. |
LRCA | Travel Reimbursement Amendment | Admin. of gov’t. | Would strike a travel reimbursement provision from the state constitution. |
LRCA | Budget Balance Amendment | State legislatures | Would say in the state constitution that the budget must be balanced. |
LRCA | Cement-Plant Trust Amendment | State budgets | Would change amount taken each year from state cement-plant trust fund. |
VR | Referred Law 14 | Taxes | Would dedicate part of tax revenues for grants to some business projects in the state. |
CISS | Initiated Measure 15 | Taxes | Would implement a one-percent sales tax increase. |
…and let’s get ready to rumble on referring HB 1234!
democracy in action
C – Would agree. Visit the AL poll question today. I think it is at around 70% refer to voters.
Ruf – Would also agree, I have often felt most major legislation, especially in SD, and when it comes to how our tax dollars are spent, should go to a public vote. Abortion is a great example, while our legislature thought we are an anti-choice state, we in fact are a pro-choice state. We proved this, twice. I also think voters getting to choose if we want a 1% tax increase (to feed the healthcare monsters in our state) is wise. Personally, it is going to fail, big time. I suspect around 70% will reject this tax increase.
Thanks. As I’ve long written, the SD legislature is and continues to be, incompetent.
I sometimes wonder if at least 50% are mentally ill? And I am not being sarcastic.
