SOUTH DAKOTA OPEN MEETING COMMISSION
AGENDA
Sioux Falls Holiday Inn
100 W. 8th St. Sioux Falls, SD
Burgundy’s Room
March 8, 2012
1:45 p.m.
This is the meeting that addresses the complaint the Argus Leader has against the city concerning the termination of former city clerk, Debra Owen. The meeting was to be held at the DT Library, but for some strange reason there was a last minute venue change . . . hmmm?

  1. The AG’s office verified that the meeting is at the Holiday Inn. But here’s the kicker, they never bothered to tell the Library, because if you call and ask them, they still have the room booked for the meeting.

    Interesting.

  2. I think better control over unwanted attendees can be addressed at a private location more so than a public owned venue… I have no evidence, just a hunch.

  3. And what have they done to publicize the change in location!!??

Hopefully the library will post a sign re-directing people across the street……

  4. So, as of today, March 7, 2012 the Sioux Falls Public Library was releasing information that the meeting was scheduled to take place at the library.

Now the location has been changed………….

Was the public given notification of this change at least 24 hours in advance…………!!!???

OR, has the South Dakota Open Meetings Commission violated their notification law…………..!!!!?????

  5. I’d like to not think that the state is as corrupt as city hall but confusing the location makes them suspicious.

  6. The AG’s office said they ‘needed a bigger venue’ because of the interest in topic. Sure.
