I just found out via FB that my longtime barber, Chuck passed away. When I first started going to Grange Avenue Barber Shop (15 years ago?) I would only let Chuck cut my hair, he was highly recommended and was the former head of the Barber school (Pre-Stewart’s). After he retired I started letting the owner Anne cut my hair (and she is fantastic). My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I have never met a barber faster or better. He could cut a flat-top in about 5 minutes.

Rest in Peace Chuck. A barber is a personal matter. I go to Jerry’s on 8th Street. It’s out of the way but he shaves my neck and trims my eyebrows. Hard to find a shop that does this. He’s better, cheaper, and cleaner than the Cost Cutter’s types. He’s had health and family problems lately. Hope he hangs around long enough for me to finish losing my hair.

Chuck was awesome, and so is Anne. She actually does all of the above to and gives a neck massage.

Chuck was a buddy of my dad’s and I was a regular at the Barber College all through my youth – the beatnik days before I became a wild-haired hippy.

He wore the coolest bowling shirts in the world! I used to salivate of how awesome they were.
