Interested in running for the SF city council?

Let’s pretend for a moment you are young, intelligent, spunky and interested in politics. Let’s also say you are thinking about running for city council against a popular incumbent.

Without name recognition, and, well, a good chunk of change, your chances are not very good. This was proven in several of the past council races results.

But what if a (somewhat) popular political group offered to raise money for you like a PAC or similar group? Would you take the money?

I guess it would depend on the group? Obviously, you probably wouldn’t want the KKK or the He-Man Women Haters club helping you with fundraising. But this group isn’t ‘That’ bad 🙂

Supposedly such an offer was made in the past election – but nobody is talking. And this is really the heart of the story. If this really took place, why hide it? It is perfectly legal for political groups to help candidates raise money. Why all the secrecy? Was city hall involved? Good question.

Loose lips sink ships I guess.

So yes, this another SouthDaCola non-story that I thought I would aggravate you with.
