Updated: Kyle is Mike’s cousin’s kid, that is why he is giving him money, according to Mike.

And giving him twice as much now that he is a Republican?

As I was reading this post by Madville Cory, I found this little tidbit;

HUETHER, MIKE & CINDY 05/01/2012 $500.00 Individual

But in 2010 they gave Kyle half that, when he was a democrat; 11523

As I have discussed in the past, it was no secret that Huether encouraged Knudson to run for city council again (A Republican) and the SD Democratic party helped raise money for her.

The waters are beginning to muddy between the parties in SD. The political climate in SD is starting to look more & more like a Huertterite colony gene pool then a straight forward, left against right. It’s more like the Republican-Light-Dems vs. the Tea-Bagger-Republicans, while the elitist, established Republicans sit on the top of the mountain and just laugh.

The irony of this is Mike’s denial he is running for higher office (governor, or something else). He recently told a radio DJ that I was ‘spreading rumors’ about the governor run.

I never said he was running, all I said was I ‘heard’ he was considering it through various sources. He has yet to deny it publicly.

  1. What “is” a Democrat in a generally conservative state like SD? I was telling a friend of mine yesterday that a typical Minnesota Republican may be a conservative democrat here in SD. The GOP here is fairly conservative (not as conservative as some other states but up there) and the Dems seem to be more to the right than they may realize. Just my “outsider” view – I see less of a differentiation here between left and right than in other places.

  2. You make a great point.

That’s why I am Indy in SD, all these labels tend to bore me.

  3. Knudson might be registered Rep. but she and her family are not by any means. It’s not unheard of to register in the majority party but be aligned with the minority party. City politics doesn’t require you to claim a party so she tries to play both fields. Scotland being not that far from Yankton I would guess this is Mikes relative. And to your other point—-this blog is based on the premise of rumor and hearsay and you have no need to be sensitive about that.

  4. Muqhtar, you said “a typical Minnesota Republican may be a conservative democrat here in SD.”
That definitely used to be the case, but not much any more. Moderate, not-extreme-righty Repubs are leaving the MN statehouse as soon as they can get packed. I think there are 7 leaving this year.

The MN Repubs are a complete and total mess. The state party has been kidnapped by tea-baggers, and the state convention was in the hands of Ron Paul Libertarians.

The party has been rocked by major adulterous affairs including their Pres of the Senate. The big-time staffer the Pres had an affair with is now suing the MN Senate for Big Bucks because he says he was unjustly fired by the Repubs who are in control of it. He also says that if he is not very well paid off he will disclose all the other affairs that legislators have been engaged in.

The MN State Repub Party almost got evicted from their office building because they were a year behind on rent. Plus they are at least $2mil in debt.

Yet, they still control both houses of the Legis!! Insane. Totally, Tea-bagger induced insanity.

You don’t want to compare SD’s Repubs and pseudo-Repubs with MN’s. SD’s will always come out ahead, as would any other state.

  5. Someone plz cue that Gordon Howie program where he talks to his cardboard Nancy Pelosi doll.

  6. “this blog is based on the premise of rumor and hearsay and you have no need to be sensitive about that.”

So when is the mayor going to come out and say he didn’t assist Knudson with her campaign, he is not running for governor and he refused to meet with Royal River casino?

It’s only rumor and hearsay if it is not true. Still waiting.

“It’s not unheard of to register in the majority party but be aligned with the minority party.”

You are right. But it is deceptive and considered ‘gutter’ politics.

  7. I don’t think Huether refused to meet with Royal River. Smith and Cooper met with them per Heuther’s orders. Heuther just wants to lay low and take credit if it happens.

  8. They are scapegoats if anything would go wrong and it give Sub-prime Mike plausible deniability: “What Happened, What Did I Miss?”

  9. “As I have discussed in the past, it was no secret that Huether encouraged Knudson to run for city council again (A Republican) and the SD Democratic party helped raise money for her.”

Detroit what did the Democratic party do to help raise money for her? Invite her to speak at one invent?

  10. I was told that Zach Crago, who works for the SD democratic party, helped raise money for De Knudson, and Huether was involved in making that happen. My source was pretty reliable, but the SD Democratic party has yet to confirm or deny it. If they want to deny this happened, I will gladly post it on my site and apologize for the accusations.

  11. Mayor sub-slime Huether is a crook. Worse, he’s a marxist who has used Home Rule tyranny to further his own wealth. Getting him out of the mayor’s office is top priority. He’ll can’t become governor once his public funds fraud has been uncovered and (hopefully) prosecuted. His next office should be convict at a federal prison.

    Heil Huether

  12. Damn Pathloss, you sure know your political swear words. Have you ever thought about having your own cable news show?

  13. “you sure know your political swear words. ”

Have you ever been to a Lora Hubbel press conference?
