Snowgates Timeline

I wanted to give an update and timeline of where we are on snowgates.

• Petitions were turned in on Tuesday

• The clerk’s office is validating them

• After validation, the city council has 10 days to call an election

• At the next city council informational meeting (I think next Tuesday, Dec 4th) City Clerk Hogstad and the city attorney will be answering questions about the special election.

• When the city council calls the election, they will have a choice between calling the date for either this Spring (2013) or Spring (2014).

I guess we will just be in a holding pattern until then.

Is the Anti-Governor running for senate?

Get out the party favors!

Soon one of the worst governors (besides Janklow) will become our worst senator;

“I am here today to ask the people of South Dakota for their support and to allow me to work for them as their United States Senator in 2014,” Rounds said in a statement.

I encourage anyone whose is ANTI anything to vote for him;

Anti-Education

Anti-Open Government

Anti-Child Welfare (The Mette Case)

Anti-Fair Bid Contracts

Anti-Limited government

Anti-Fiscal responsibility

Anti-Ethics

Thune-Bag is concerned about govt spending? LMAO!

Yeah, this is from the guy who continues to support tax cuts for the rich, voted for two unneeded wars and asked for the biggest federal loan in the history of our country for a private RR company;

Thune told reporters Wednesday. “To me, the pledge isn’t the problem in Washington; the problem in Washington isn’t that we don’t tax enough, it’s that we spend too much.”

Yeah, and what is ironic Johnny going to do about it? NAFT as usual!

Snowgate Petitions turned in today

Around 8,300 petitions were turned in today. I would like to personally THANK Theresa for heading up this endeavor. Say what you want to about her efforts, she did this petition drive for the citizens of Sioux Falls. She is slowly becoming an old pro at this. It took her and over 50 volunteers under 10 weeks to get the signatures. Beyond making sure it gets on the Spring ballot, Stehly has told me she will not be that involved after that. She thinks this is up to citizens if they want them or not. I did tell her though that I will actively educating the public on their advantages, and after the council calls the election date, we will have a marketing plan in place.

Is Steve Hildebrand considering a run for mayor?

Steve is no stranger to local politics, he helped with getting Huether elected, he was the force behind the BID group and he helped get President Obama elected as his deputy campaign manager. Steve is no fan of Huether and once said to me,

“I will do anything I can to make sure Huether is not re-elected.”

No love lost between the two I guess.

I received an email this afternoon that Steve may be considering running against the mayor in 2014 from a reliable source. I hope Steve commits, it could make for an interesting campaign season next fall.
