Republican Legislator David Novstrup is ‘nervous’
“Rep. David Novstrup voted against a non-partisan redistricting commission today in the House State Affairs committee. You have to listen to his reasoning yourself to believe it.”

I see that after the Sioux Falls City council has denied a special snowgate election this Spring with the school district, they are going to discuss how they will hold special elections with the School District in the future;
#51 Deffered: Joint elections – agreement to share expenses.
I have often believed that the SNAFU with the School District and the missing mini-van ballots was one of the reason(s) the city council denied the snowgate election this Spring. The city simply doesn’t want to work with the school district in the future for special elections, that is also why they have allowed this Contract (sfsdcity) to be deferred for so long. I would suspect this will probably set a precedent in the future, I suspect future councils will continue to deny joint elections with the school district. It is a shame really when local government officials from different branches cannot get along and work together, because ultimately in the end, they all work for us, the taxpayer.
As I said to a friend the other day about our city, county and school district local government,
“It’s a F’ing mess!”

I had a nice little surprise last night getting home from work. The water main was broke right in front of my house. Nothing like your house rattling like chattering teeth at 5 AM in the morning due to a dirt tamping device. I guess there was also a water main break last week to in central Sioux Falls. Surprised that Stormland TV wasn’t in my neighborhood wondering how I would take a shower before I went to bed, doing a team report about how I may have to wash my bed sheets in the morning due to my griminess, but how was I going to do that also? Dumb. In fact, I didn’t see one single reporter or anything in the news about it. Apparently since I didn’t have a threat of my bagged frozen gravy thawing out, it wasn’t news.
Which brings me to a bigger story our supposed media in town should be covering;
“How bad is the infrastructure Downtown and in surrounding neighborhoods?”
Developer and Human Key to the city (or at least to the cash box), Craig Lloyd has often contended that he can’t develop Downtown without TIF’s do to old infrastructure and hazardous conditions. He may be right, afterall, even though I still think he should fund his own FOR PROFIT developments.
So when is our MSM going to stop worrying about what their co-workers think about them while showering with them, and dig into the deeper story? Maybe Mr. Lloyd would like to do an exclusive interview with Detroit Lewis talking about all the exploding transformers, water pipes and melting gravy.
Not sure if you remember a few years ago when a man was arrested for setting up a sexual encounter with an undercover cop that he thought was a minor. A judge through the case out, because as he said, “It would be like charging someone for killing Mickey Mouse.” Well, the SFPD are at it again, creating crime;
SIOUX FALLS, SD -Three men face charges following a prostitution customer sting done by Sioux Falls Police.
Authorities say the men contacted undercover female officers posing as prostitutes by phone and through internet ads. The men are now charged with hiring for Sexual Activity.
Those arrested Thursday are:Â Adam Alrubaie, 52, of Hartford; Daniel Joseph Klecker, 63, of Sioux Falls; and Mitchell Allen Whitefield, 30, of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Police say the operation is part of investigations dealing with prostitution and human trafficking in the Sioux Falls area.
Is prostitution a problem in Sioux Falls? Yes. It has been for a very long time, and I commend the SFPD for stepping up. But shouldn’t they be concentrating on catching ACTUAL prostitutes and Johns hiring these women? Placing FAKE ads online and ‘posing’ as prostitutes is only creating a crime where one was not present. You could argue that the SFPD department is actually the guilty party in this matter, since they are the ones placing the ads. What further frustrates me about this practice is that we are constantly hearing from county officials that they need more money for the courts and law enforcement – here’s a suggestion, stop creating criminal situations, and go after ACTUAL criminals instead of creating new ones.
