The Hypocrisy of the Sioux Falls City Council, & other city tidbits

The city council recently told the snowgate petitioners that they could not have a spring 2013 election because they didn’t ‘budget for it’. Yet magically $1.8 million dollar surplus showed up;

The Sioux Falls City Council is deciding how to spend a $1.8 million surplus left over from last year’s capital budget, money that could go toward a variety of projects.

Why the city council even bothers horsing around with this is beyond me. Everybody knows who holds the purse strings of this city; Mayor Huether.

GETTING ‘HUETHERED’ BY ELLIS

Speaking of old Mikey boy, Ellis did a fantastic column about his arrogance today;

Huether was not amused. KSFY asked him about the photos (Huethered). He refused to look at them. Then he invoked God, which is seldom advisable in these situations, telling KSFY: “You know what, have fun, have fun. If you think that’s what God wanted you to do with the days that were given to you, have fun with it.”

He came across as crabby.

And a Charlatan, which he is.

HIT THE ROAD JACK!

But this coming week may get a little rocky for MMM. I recently got a tip that Mike got into a tit-for-tat with the governor’s economic development office over a business that wanted to relocate to Sioux Falls. More on that, once I ‘Huether’ out all the deets.

LET’S GO SWIMMING (OUTDOORS OF COURSE)

And since the media already knows, I might as well let the cat out of the bag. The Save Spellerberg petitioners are turning in their petitions this week. They have well over the needed 5,500 signatures.

Misc Sh’t

A poem I shat out a little bit ago:

‘Sloppy’

That’s me.

Missing a belt loop, toot-fruit, one-armed, nicknack handler.

Classic car, from afar, hot dog stand, without a plan.

Hot tea on a Saturday night? Dumb. Why not chew your nails while watching reruns of ‘Friends’?

Who invented fun?

I fucking did.

Deal.

A GREAT FB post about Huether:

Why does Charles Bukowski continue to show up?

A friendly reminder . . .

South DaCola Fest WILL occur this next Monday, March 25. 5:30 at the Touch of Europe. After a long hiatus from this event, I hope it will be the best one so far. Feel free to bring treats and eats, cash bar, and plenty of political talk. I am working on getting some local politicos to show up and make it more engaging. While we have some wild times here sometimes, it will be great meeting some of you in person, again. Enemies are welcome too 🙂
