And I am not even being snarky, and I think I posted about this last year. How do you pay public, city council employees based on performance? (Item #11) Do they get a raise based on being more ‘councilory’?

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PAY-FOR-PERFORMANCE PROGRAM FOR THE CITY COUNCIL APPOINTED POSITIONS OF BUDGET ANALYST, CITY CLERK, INTERNAL AUDITOR, INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER, AND THE LEGISLATIVE/OPERATIONS MANAGER.

  1. Typically, pay for performance schemes are based on meeting pre-set goals. Such as -“respond to 95% of citizen inquiries within 24 hours.” Meet that goal – and you get the performance pay. Fail to meet it – and you don’t. It’s pretty simple really.

  2. Some of them should be put on voluntary base with no pay because some of them do nothing but be lap dogs.

  3. Debra was intelligent, efficient, and ethical. She was forced out but it was a good time to leave. It’s the ultimate complement when it takes 3 people to replace you.

  4. Their budget guy was hired when Debra was the City Clerk. Started a month or so b4 she was let go. From what I remember in 2011/2012, one of the three assistant clerks were also eliminated.

  5. Kyle – Ah, Yes, Bixler. Erpenbach and Aguliar were involved with that appointment, I don’t think Owen had anything to do with that, but I don’t know all the details.
