Events Center nominated for award

When I saw this story, I about fell out my chair laughing. I guess the construction of the facility wasn’t one of the criteria to get nominated;

Sioux Falls’ newest sports and entertainment venue is on a short list of international venues to be nominated for Best New Major Concert Venue for the 26th annual Pollstar awards, city officials say.

If they do win the award, hopefully they don’t accept it in front of the building, a piece of siding may fall on them.

    If you are 5 foot 11 or over don’t get a seat in row G for a hockey game. Found out the hard way what sardines feel like.

    Reminds me of when the city gave an award to the IT person who initiated SIRE for the city, at the time it was not working at all.

    Gawd, Huether’s ego will explode. However, for awile, it should keep his mind off the elite tennis club & public baths complex. ‘Listen while I brag’ will be torture. Public channels will be 24 hour MMM.

    I have a feeling this is one of those awards where almost everybody is nominated. How many facilities of this size opened in the past year? There can’t be that many, so nominate them all to give them cheap publicity.
