Depending on the establishment and clientele, this idea could backfire on waiting staff.
Poly has a point. If customers are charged without initial disclosure, they’ll take offense and not leave a tip. A better idea is servers share a portion of their tips because tips are more and better with live music.
Personally, I make sure to put $5 or more in the musicians tip jar on my way leaving from the establishment. Also, at least a separate $5 if I request a song.
