I lived 9 years at 8,000′ in Colorado. Seeing mountain lions was common. They’re more plentiful than you think. For business I travel to remote radio sites. I see them often and carry a gun in case they see me as food. They’re there and you don’t usually see them till lately. Sorry, they must be hunted when there’s to many so they don’t dine on your poodle. They’re beauty in nature but not good kitty’s as pets.
Too many of them? They are looking at us and saying the same thing. Meow, good eats!
That would be a great photo for Rapid City to use in an economic development brochure….;-)
No for RC photo. No aspen trees there. Did you know a group of aspen trees is one organism? They’re native to Colorado and parts of NM or Utah. People try planting them elsewhere but they often don’t survive.
