Give me a break. Why are the kids answering your phone anyway Ernie? And BTW, several constituents showed up to testify, and you and the committee didn’t allow the ‘intellectual’ conversation. Piss and moan about the ‘kids’ all you want, but your ilk continue to hide behind the morality and constitutional argument (which is weak at best).

Let’s face it, you are butt hurt that the Democrats have been handing you your asses on initiatives and you don’t have complete control. Pull the fairytale constitution, from your rear ends and start governing like logical human beings. A democracy is built around the people, not rhetoric, not 20-year old lawsuits and certainly not about answering services.

Let me repeat that, PEOPLE! LIVING PEOPLE!

Now turn on your cell phone, your emails and carrier pigeons and listen to the PEOPLE!

  1. What did Corey Brown expect the public would do when their rights were being reduced? If this was a bill to control weapons, the reaction would have been 100 times worse, and for sure the tempers would have been much worse.

I do not understand why someone would even try writing such a bill. Just a waste of my tax dollars and it cost the public a lot of time and money as well.

There are way too many bills introduced each year that are nothing more than special interest bills or pay-offs for being elected. What about the bill to change daylight saving time. Did that legislator expect the bill to go anywhere? That just wasted time and money.

If Corey wants to improve the legislative process, he should come forth with legislation to reduce these wasteful bills so that more time could be spent dealing with important legislation.

In my opinion each party should be limited on how many bills can be introduced. Another option would be that bills must have co-sponsors from both parties before being allowed to be introduced. In most cases, less bills that are written better, with more LRC review time and committee review would be better for all of us South Dakotans.
