A South DaCola foot soldier sent me this picture today. Not sure why they need to prop up the bridge with dirt, but this site makes me a little nervous.

7 Thoughts on “Should we be a little worried about the 11th & Grange Bridge?

  1. I wonder how much an engineering consultant charged us for this genius move? Or if someone in our crack engineering department came up with this all by their lonesome? Maybe they should just let Dan’s Sanitation drop his garbage here to help pay back his fees?

Is this the bridge the City put out for bids and there were NO takers?

Then, to save face, they responded by saying, Oh well, we will just wait another year to address this.

Maybe we need a citizen vigilante citation process. No, they’d ignore it like we ignore theirs. The 12th Street bridge was to be done this year but the money was looted to pay for the indoor swimming pool.

Before we go off the deep end commenting on this thread, since I posted this Mark Cotter (Public Works Director) did tell councilors that the clay put under the bridge was to stabilize it until they can fix it next year, and he assured them it was safe. So I guess we will have to take his word for it. Could be worse, we could have used feminine products and feces pouring down our streets . . . WAIT!

I guess that takes care of the graffitti problem.

  6. maybe they could put clay on the side of the event center to smooth it out.

The neighborhood kids will have a blast playing. I don’t remember a bigger attractive nuisance than this. Do you suppose the city eng office would disclose the calculations by a Licensed engineer so those who go to the ec can reasonably expect to get home safely.
