Well according to the Fargo City Commission, that may be the case. They are considering re-purposing their civic center into a performance facility, and one of the commissioner’s had this to say about the Pavilion (DOC, Page 4: web150105)

  1. I’ve wondered about the Pavilion. At the time of its repurposing, Munson was more focused on preserving his high school Alma mater than practicality. I agree with preserving any red granite building at/near downtown. This deserved a TIF to a private concern instead of the wasted millions on an impractical entertainment feature. I’ve always thought it should have been a banking or insurance corporate office. It could be once the city can no longer afford service and repairs. I’d buy it for $1 on the courthouse steps once federal bankruptcy court forces a sale.

  2. It’s funny, if I could afford to attend any events anyplace in the city, there has been more concerts, etc. at the Pavilion that I would rather see, than in the Event Center. The same goes for events at the Orpheum Theater.
