I find it interesting that Mr. Cooper would be doing a media show in light of his recent testimony in the Walmart zoning hearings, in which Mr. Cooper is accused of doing some ‘internal’ zoning without the consent of ‘others’. Be interesting to see if anyone asks him about the hearings.
Could someone clarify Mr. Cooper’s title? I’m aware he has history in city nomenclature but what’s he responsible for? His opinion is knowledgeable and valuable but how does it merit? Just asking.
Planning is wishful thinking. Mayor and city engineer are policy and practicality. City council is puppets with the city attorney’s hand inside them so they won’t block non-competitive bids, award contracts, or exert/enforce free speech at public meetings.
So, maps and plats are “wishful thinking”? I believe you’ve conflated one of several definitions of “planning” with the one that applies here.
