‘Let’s be nice to everyone’ day coming to Sioux Falls

As you may or may not heard, the city announced they will have a second, middle-aged, white, blonde woman working in the Human Rights division;

Julie most recently was the Executive Director of the Business Resource Network, a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide businesses with education, awareness, and resources to promote the successful employment of persons with disabilities. Previously, she worked for the Sanford Health Foundation and South Dakota Parent Connection. She also created the BrightLights Foundation, a volunteer program to help mentor parents of children with Down syndrome. Her volunteer work includes serving with the Disability Awareness Commission, Buddy Walk, the ADA Celebration Committee, and more.

Okay, Julie does have an impressive resume, it just lacks a little color. But the big announcement of her employment is just the tip of the iceberg. Gosh darn it, Sioux Falls, we are going to get compassionate, even if the mayor has to force it down our frickin’ throats;

News conference to announce a new initiative by the City of Sioux Falls Human Relations Office called “Compassionate Sioux Falls”

I wonder if this initiative will start in the city attorney and code enforcement offices first? Oh, that’s right, they get a free pass on being assholes. My bad.
