At this point, Theresa is only ‘considering’ a run. She wants to see how her petition gathering goes. She has until the filing date of February 26th to make a decision on an official run.
She told me today that the mayor really inspired her to run when he had the press conference asking for citizen participation.
This is old hat for Theresa, and I respect her honesty about a consideration at this point. But if she runs, she will have 100% of my support.

Theresa is out collecting signatures now at the courthouse during the day, and I think she will be at the legislative coffee on Saturday if you want to sign.
Ms. Stehly brings passion, COMpassion, ethics and strong morals to this race. I suggest everyone revisit the John Paulson for City Council campaign financial disclosure doc shared earlier on this blog, and particularly note the contributions from Sanford’s Kelby Krabbenhoft and City Councilor Rex Rolfing. Sanford Health and the rest of the status quo/behind-the-scenes-developer-puppeteers have enough influence on City Hall as it is. Sioux Falls needs another independent ‘Councilor Conscience’ (akin to Staggers) not beholding to the special interests. I hope I have the opportunity to sign her nominating petition. Ms. Stehly deserves a place on the ballot and every voter’s support in the upcoming Muni Election.
