You know that thing you feel is a repeat of something you thought you experienced before and hope you don’t get the same result all over again? Think it’s called deja vous, right?
We’re watching the Tuesday, July 5, 2016, Sioux Falls City Council Informational meeting and we hear Michelle Erpenbach telling wild stories but then again there is a twist. There is now Michelle’s mea culpa.
What’s a mea culpa you might ask? We decided it was time to head for the Wiki on the wild web: The expression is used also as an admission of having made a mistake that should have been avoided, and may be accompanied by beating the breast as in its use in a religious context. Yup there it is, a dumb thing said the week before now having to be publicly corrected. Problem is, the mea culpa is once again justified by the hiding of who was responsible for the problem to start with.
Confused yet? For those who were following Michelle and Diamond Jim’s tenure in leadership it is now the airing of the Council laundry we knew stunk back in 2012. Now Michelle is finding “historical” notes from imaginary meetings? We don’t know. Michelle says the stuff is public, I guess we will be digging for the wastebasket or dumpster the minutes are in.
We’ll get back to you on this.
Seems like the council has started to police itself. What could happen is better notice regarding some of the side meetings. There’s been open meeting violations. Mostly because there was no awareness. Now they know. No excuses from here on.
