Watch this video on Stormland TV.
Towards the end of the video, the reporter says that he contacted the Mayor, and Huether told him he had never heard of the petition drive (LOL) and told the reporter to talk to Rolfing, Kiley or Erpenbach. None of them returned his call. BIG SURPRISE!!! The three ring circus clowns have their phones off as usual.
Yet another media source they are running from;

‘KDLT News also reached out to the three council members that side with the mayor on the issue, Michelle Erpenbach, Rick Kiley and Rex Rolfing.
They were not readily available for comment.’
Didn’t former Mayor Hanson even speak out against the proposed new building?
Does the mayor live here? This has been on all the networks for days. As mayor you’d think he’d watch some local news. Oh, I forgot he lives on a private lake 70 miles NW. Remote parts of Alaska don’t get news for months.
The former mayors have not spoken about this publicly but I do think Dave Munson is opposed to the bond, but you would have to ask him.
As for the conspiracy theory behind this, this building and the pool sprouted from the EC project. See SF Construction and Henry Carlson also bidded on the EC and Mortenson won the contract, in order for the mayor to make nice, he offered them both projects, ironically costing almost identical, $25 million. SF Construction got the pool, and Henry Carlson was supposed to get the Admin building. This has nothing to do with needs, this has to do with the mayor paying back his coffers.
I think the real issue is, that is after we decide whether we want to spend the $ 24 million for a new administration building or save a lot of money by spending a meager $ 21 million to renovate the “300” building (What?), ….. Is what are we going to call this new or renovated building? Will it be called the “Badlands Administration Building” or how about “CarsforSale.com Administration Building?” And while we are on this topic, when are we going to get the new neon Coca-Cola sign atop of the roof of our current City Hall that we have been promised for years??
Wish I could sign this, but I live out of the city. However, I do spend my tax dollars in Sioux Falls so would be supporting this fiasco too. Good luck in stopping this waste of taxpayer money. If one of the mayor’s cronies gets stuck so what? For once, show some fiscal responsibility. And why is it always that a new or remodeled building is needed anyway? Use some of the existing facilities. The little people don’t get a new house or remodel every few years; why does the govt?
Many citizens live in houses that are “too small” for their families, need repair and are 80+ years old. Yet, they get by somehow. The City Hall is 80 years old and made of bricks, granite and marble, has had remodeling and looks like it could stand for a while. There are so many more needs in this city that could help make a difference in all citizen’s lives. BTW, how far does the administration think the 2nd penny sales tax is going to stretch? It isn’t even fulfilling its original purpose.
