The Sioux Falls wambulance oversight board met on December 30, 2016 even though the website said cancelled. Never quite sure what the REMSA Board is up to, Cameraman Bruce decided to show up with you guessed it, his cameras.

  1. Bruce video has become more important than cell phone cameras at police beatings. Remind everyone that cell phones are protection because the city edits or doesn’t do video. Really, cancel the meeting then hold it anyway! Violates Robert’s Rules so nothing decided is legal. They’ll look terrible in court if the Sunshine Law is used for discovery.

  2. Speaking of ‘Snippets’ I liked Mr. Myer’s ‘Snippet’ about how recording the meetings might discourage volunteers to serve on these committees. Funny, the Planning Commission is all volunteers and they are recorded and never have an issue filling seats. Besides, whether you are elected and paid or a volunteer, transparency should always be applied to government. If you have a problem with that transparency, don’t volunteer. Seems having the REMSA meetings recorded may get us BETTER volunteers instead of people who want to make decisions in the shadows.

  3. We have already have video recordings of city officials having quorum meetings after adjournment. Like it or not, we will continue to drop in on these meetings and the “volunteers” can just suck it up and enjoy it.
