Jeff met with friends and supporters tonight to tell us he is considering a run for the office. Jeff would certainly bring a different perspective to the office and some integrity. I hope he does it! Please encourage Jeff to step up!

26 Thoughts on “Jeff Barth strongly considering a run for Sioux Falls Mayor

  1. Hell to the n to the o hell no hes not for lgbt at all dont need him as mayor

Certainly more well-qualified to be mayor than Nick Weiland or David Zokaites!

I have spoken in front of the Minnehaha commissioners once. Jeff Barth treated me fairly that day. He will always have my back.

Best candidate so far. Anybody but Entenman. I feel sorry for the next mayor. Impossible to overcome Huether’s debt. What if dictator Huether declares martial law and invades Poland. Veto That!

  5. go Jeff Barth

This is what I will say about Jeff. I don’t always agree with him, but he tells it like it is. That scares people. I also think Jeff understands public service. He has already had a successful career and he certainly isn’t doing this for financial gain or higher office. He also understands prudence and a tight budget, something we need at city hall in the next term. I have often said, the next mayor will be the polar opposite of MMM, Jeff is that guy.

  7. Greg Jamison will be announcing in a few days greg Jamison all the way

  8. What about the crime on the streets and cleaning up the city attorneys office and the police department and all the other corrupted administration and what about bringinh siversity into the city .Jeff is not the right guy for mayor on these issues

  9. We need a mayor that has a back bone and will tackle the crime that is rising improve the police department get rid of city attorneys that dont know the law or does know the law and wants to break them like roberts rule
Last week at input councilmembers shouldnt of had to challenege the mayor and the city attorney the city attorney ahould know the law and to try to stir council in the wrong direction was very un professional .

  10. LET SIOUXFALLS MOVE FORWARD NOT BACKWARDS OR AT A STAND STILL Vote Greg Jamison For Mayor 2018.

Sierra, what do you think the county is responsible for? Crime prevention and social programs. Trust me, Jeff knows a Hell of a lot more about crime then the current yahoo in office.

  12. Greg jamison also knows to

  13. I heard Walmart is tough on crime.

  14. With several candidates a runoff is probable. The best play is to strategize/focus on that eventuality. Smart money says that Entenman gets there. Who gets there with him? Probably won’t matter.

Sierra Broussrd, are you aware that Greg Jamison vote for Senate Bill 149 that allows taxpayer-funded adoption agencies to deny services and child placement to LGBT families out of religious objections?

  17. It is to protect religious freedom . I have spoken to greg on the issue and the govenor has also stated the bill doesnt discriminate .I supported the bill.Just like the bathroom bill with transgenders until it becomes a issue leave it alone. And why would the LGBT want to go to a religious agency to adopt? Thats like the homeless shelters that are religion based bishop Dudley st francis house union gospel they dont have to accept LGBT people .If i go to the state of south dakota to become a foster parent and or adopt a child me as a transgender im sure that they will let me become a foster parent and or adopt if i meet all the criteria .being a transgender will not be held against me .

Yes, but SB 149 uses my tax dollars to discriminate. I don’t have an issue with a Catholic organization adopting to who they want to, but they can’t use public money to do so.

  19. I know a few LGBT couples that have adopted and some are foster parents and they wasnt discriminated against and this happened after the bill was passed.

  20. Stop going to catholic churches and donating to the basket that they pass around on sundays .The catholics have been against LGBT for centurys so why donate your money and sit in there churches ? The vatican has more money then the usa and all of the money is the citizens money ,people have chosen to donate there money to a religious organization that they ageee with the beliefs of the church and they have that right.

I’m a big defender of Liberty and would never tell a private organization what to do. But when they get tax breaks for non-profit status or get government money they have given up their right to discriminate.

  22. Im going to say this and im done .Greg Jamison and I have spoken for months and had deep discussions on LGBT. He is a very spiritual person he could of said u dont wanna talk about it and didnt want to understand but that wasnt the case.Greg has accepted and acknowledged and understands LGBT now that he has taken the time to reach out not only to me but to others so if anyone thinks Greg is against LGBT your wrong .

  23. Larry on March 26, 2017 at 7:23 am said:

So if Huether is elected Governor and supports similar legislation citing the protection of religious freedom and asserting it will not discriminate, does he get a pass too? Fat chance.

Sierra, Jeff Barth is a straight up guy and is the best candidate for the job regardless of what position he chooses here in South Dakota compared to what is in Pierre and in Sioux Falls.

If you vote for Jamison or that other guy you might as well figure Dale Bartschler from FHA will be in Sioux Falls crafting new anti-LGBT laws during the day at city hall and having a few cocktails at Club David in the evening. Don’t let them smooth talk you.

l3wis, I am Catholic, and I agree with your statement.

  26. I blame it all on Hobby Lobby and their successful lawsuit against ObamaCare with the help of the conservative Roberts Court, which in turn has empowered some to continue to author and legislate further discriminatory ideas….. There is only one answer: Boycott Hobby Lobby!
;-)…. That’s it, Lake Lorraine is not a place of tolerance…. We must “Free Lake Lorraine!”……
